I share Coxe’s view that a gold revaluation would not solve all the problems of the US. However, I have held the view for some year’s now that once the US got into a nasty situation where its debt was put into play, that assets under the control of the US, from timber to oil to base metals, would have to be called upon and listed in a more formal way to creditors. The revaluation of the gold in Fort Knox would therefore be a way for the US to pledge the asset. It might also be a way to bring some discipline to future government spending. Given the current alternatives, issuing endless quantities of Treasuries and maintaining this impending sense that the USD is set for another huge downward move, gold revaluation starts to look like a decent solution at a difficult time. The lingering questionow would only be: is there actually enough gold in Ft Knox to revalue at the 1000.00/ounce level?

Omdat de Bengaalse tijger zo sterk is en amper opvalt, wordt deze grootste en zwaarste der katachtigen gevreesd door zowel dier als mens. Getooid met zijn klassieke oranje-zwarte vacht doet hij zijn ronde in zijn territorium en jaagt hij meestal solitair. Hij besluipt zijn prooi of lokt deze in een hinderlaag en omdat hij enorm krachtig is, kan hij dieren aan die groter zijn dan hijzelf. Vroeger kwam de Bengaalse tijger overal in Azië voor. Nu alleen nog in sommige streken van India en omliggende landen.
Bij het doden van zijn prooi maakt de tijger gebruik van zijn onopvallendheid. Hij heeft een uitstekend gezichtsvermogen en gehoor, zodat hij dieren ook in het donker kan volgen. Hij jaagt op grote dieren zoals herten en wilde zwijnen en heeft dan weer voor een paar dagen genoeg eten. Behoedzaam besluipt hij zijn prooi, om vanaf twintig meter toe te slaan. Hij doodt zijn prooi met een beet in de nek of de keel, waarna hij het slachtoffer de dichte begroeiing in sleept en daar oppeuzelt. Heeft hij genoeg gegeten, dan bedekt hij zijn prooi met bladeren en komt hij later terug. Mannetjestijgers eten wel veertig kg per keer.
Tijgers houden van water en baden vaak in rivieren en poelen om zich op het heetst van de dag te verkoelen. Meestal jagen ze tijdens de nacht en rusten ze overdag uit. De meeste tijgers leven alleen, al jagen moeders soms ook samen met hun welpen en andere jongen. Een mannetjestijger zwerft door een territorium van ten hoogste honderd vierkante kilometer, waarbij hij de grenzen afbakent met geursporen, uitwerpselen en krassen op stenen of bomen.
Andere tijgers kunnen daar zijn geslacht, grootte en territorium uit opmaken. Tijgers communiceren via brullen en grommen. Ze verdedigen hun territorium fel tegen rivaliserende mannetjes, maar staan enige overlap toe met de kleinere territoria van vrouwtjes.
Het mannetje vindt een vrouwtje op haar gebrul en geursporen. Een tijgerpaar kan in twee dagen wel honderd keer paren. If you throw in a Bavarian Pope, add in a new Catholic-convert former U.S. House Speaker to the mix, stir in some historic enigmatic figure such as Albertus Maximus or Johann Worlgang von Goethe, link it altogether with a bleeding edge scientific discovery at an infamous research institute (like Kaiser Wilhelm/Fritz Haber/Max Planck Soceity), sprinkle in trivia (like the Danube is 1776 miles long, the same year that Weishaupt founded the Bavarian Illuminati) and you almost have the makings for a Dan Brown thriller.

This past Saturday, Murphy addressed a full room with his Numismatic Theatre presentation at the American Numismatic Association convention in Fort Worth. There, he shared much of the breaking information he provided to the CFTC commissioners. Little did we know at the time, but at about then Andrew Maguire’s car, in which his wife and he were riding, was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Both Maguire and his wife were briefly hospitalized. The police eventually arrested the other driver. The Maguires may be considered more than lucky. There are other past would-be whistle blowers about the manipulation in gold and silver markets that died in unusual accidents before they were able to bring forth their evidence.
Curiously, the live television broadcast of the CFTC hearing suffered a technical failure right as Murphy was set to begin his testimony. This was corrected right after Murphy was finished. At the same time, at least one live voice broadcast failed during Murphy’s presentation. Coincidence?
Now that this information about silver price manipulation and about the massive shortage of physical gold and silver on the London exchange is part of the official record, I expect huge fallout. Remember, after the five men were arrested for breaking into the Democratic headquarters in Watergate in June 1972, it took more than two years for President Nixon to resign. I don’t think it will take anywhere near this long for last Thursday’s revelations to blow back against the U.S. government and the U.S. dollar. Once the public realizes the extent of the manipulation, gold and silver prices are likely to skyrocket.
